The last on our list of natural sleep aids is OxySleep, an herbal supplement that claims to regulate a healthy sleep cycle, alleviate daily stress symptoms, and increase your energy upon waking.

OxySleep contains melatonin, an organic compound produced naturally by the pineal gland in humans. Melatonin chemically induces drowsiness and lowers the body temperature triggering the sleep portion of the body's sleep-wake cycle.

The active ingredient in this herbal supplement is melatonin, the hormone responsible for inducing sleep. In your body, melatonin is secreted into the bloodstream, which is triggered by darkness or falling light.

Does OxySleep Work?

In order to verify the efficacy of OxySleep as a sleep aid, Product-Critic assembled a review panel of 60 volunteers to take one tablet of OxySleep about an hour before going to sleep each night for 14 consecutive days (the length of the product's free trial period).

Our volunteers were also requested to take note on how long it took them to fall asleep after taking OxySleep, whether or not they awoke in the middle of the night, how soundly they slept, and how they felt upon waking in the morning.

Just about 75% of the 60 men and women who participated in Product-Critic's consumer review stated that they were content with OxySleep's results. Feedback included statements of improved sleep, less interruptions and waking in the middle of the night, and a decrease in restless, troubled sleeping symptoms.

However, a quarter of our test panel reported no effects at all, even after doubling or tripling the recommended dosage. This product also showed minimal improvement for overall sleep quality over a long period of time.
